TUESDAYS WITH MORRIE

Image
Dr. Morrie is suffering from ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) and this book contains last words of wisdom that professor Morrie shares with his college student (author of the book, Mitch). Mitch used to visit Morrie every Tuesday before Morrie died of his severe illness. There is lot to learn from their meetings, let's look at the key points that Morrie shared -: First Tuesday : love  •Most important thing in life is to learn how to give out love and let it come in.  • We don't let love come in because either we think we don't deserve love or we think it will make us too soft. But that's not true, never be afraid to love others and let others love you.  •As long as we love each other, we can die without really going away. All the love that you create will still be there. Death ends life, not a relationship.  •Love is - when you are concerned about someone else's situation as you are about your own. Second Tuesday : self pity • No matter how worse the situat...

Attain whatever you ask from life, through the philosophy by Napolean Hill, in his book 'Think and Grow Rich'. The book provides the principles of success, after extensive research for 25yrs on more than 500 people who possesses great wealth.  Here I provide the brief analysis of those principles which you can apply in your daily lives and fulfil your dreams.  1) DESIRE   •Desire is the starting point of all achievements. Don't just wish but have a pulsating and definite desire.  •Desires become reality when you desire something so deeply that you are willing to stake your entire future for it.  •You can desire anything, but for now suppose you desire to be rich, then you can realise your desire by following these steps -: Step 1 - Fix your mind with exact amount of money you desire. Vague statements like 'I want to have plenty of money' doesn't work. Step 2- Determine exactly what you intend to give in return for that money, then gain enough knowledge abou...

THE DIP

Image
Are you planning to 'quit' something because even after putting enough hard work, the results are not satisfying ? Then please rethink and decide wisely, after reading the summary of Book ' The Dip' (by Seth Godin). It teaches us about the right time to 'quit'.   The book talks about 3 curves  1) The Dip  • When we start something, it's fun because in intial phase, the new learnings and experiences keeps us going. But after that phase, 'Dip' happens. • Here our  increased efforts doesn't improve the results. At this point we feel like quitting.  • But quitting at this time isn't a good idea because just by pushing ourselves a little bit harder, we can cross 'the Dip' and become best in whatever we are doing and thus can achieve our ultimate goal. Although only few can gather courage to go beyond the dip.  • If you can't make it through 'the dip' of a particular field, its better not to start it and infact save your resou...
